Virat Kohli – India’s Run Machine in ‘Do or Die’ Games!

Virat Kohli is turning out as the ultimate superstar. He is doing things, which every Indian dreams to do. Not even Sachin Tendulkar has done these kind of heroics of the 23 year old.

High pressure produces the best from Kohli.

He has hit two crucial centuries – one against Srilanka at Australia , who can forget the face of Malinga in that match; and one against Pakistan last week during Asia Cup – both helping to keep India’s hope of reaching the finals alive.

Kohli’s has produced 133 not out from 86 deliveries to chase a target of 321 in less than 38 overs. His last week performance was 183 against Srilanka, enabling India to chase down a target of 329. Both  these centuries were extra-ordinary and terrific. No one in the current Indian team has produced innings like those in these type of crunch matches. But unfortunately these two innings didn’t fetch India a place in the  respective finals, the reason being the calculator! If it was Australia’s defeat against Srilanka which pushed India out of finals in the triangular series, now it is Bangladesh, by its win against Srilanka closed the door of Indian dreams.

Kohli’s heroics might have got more credit , had his effort helped India to reach the finals; but unfortunately India had lost those games which they should not have lost in both tournaments. India as a team cannot be said to be performing too bad, it was a tie against Srilanka which cost India a final berth in triangular series. Asia cup dreams ended even after 2 wins because of the loss to Bangladesh; Indian bowling department needs improvement, there is no second question on that.

But Hats off to Kohli, for those outstanding innings, hope for many more like those from you!!!
